We know buying a holiday home is a big commitment, and it’s natural to have a few questions, or even a few concerns.

That’s why we believe it’s best to go in with your eyes open, feeling fully informed and confident about every step. At Haulfryn, we’re all about keeping things clear, honest, and refreshingly free from surprises.

Here’s how we make the whole process feel just as good as our destinations.

Straight talk,

From day one

From your very first enquiry, we’ll share everything you need to know upfront. That includes answers to every question, even the ones you didn’t know to ask, and full access to any paperwork you’ll be asked to sign, including the holiday licence which is the agreement, or contract, between you and Haulfryn.

We actively encourage you to take your time, read through it all, and seek independent advice if you’d like. We’ll be right here if you need anything clarified.

We love

To meet you

We always encourage a visit before making any decisions and we’re happy to help out with the arrangements. From viewing a shortlist of holiday homes to trying out the facilities (or finding the nearest pub), we’ll make sure you see everything you need to feel confident. It’s your opportunity to explore the park in person, soak up the holiday lifestyle, and spend time in your potential new holiday home. And if you’d like to come back for a second visit, just to be sure, we’ll be delighted to welcome you again.

Time to sleep on it

We’ll never rush you into a decision. Once you leave a deposit, you’ll have a full 14-day cooling-off period with a guaranteed refund if you change your mind.  And even after you complete your purchase, our One Month Live & Love It Guarantee gives you 30 days to truly experience holiday life at your chosen park. Unpack slowly. Watch the light change through the windows. Meet the neighbours. Take a dip, a walk, a deep breath. If after 30 days it doesn’t feel quite right, we’ll give you a full refund. No pressure, no awkwardness, just our way of making sure it’s the right fit for you.

Costs covered
We’ll walk you through all the ongoing costs, from pitch fees and utilities to insurance. There may be costs that you haven’t considered like maintenance and winterisation, we’ll make sure you have a full picture so you have a full and honest view of your annual spend, and will never be left wondering what’s coming down the line. Our pitch fees are reviewed annually and generally rise in line with inflation in order to help cover operational price rises. Increases above that are rare and always communicated in advance.

A holiday home, not a financial investment
Buying a holiday home is not an investment. Like cars, holiday homes will depreciate over time, but they pay back in other ways, offering you an abundance of regular breaks and a lifestyle that brings joy season after season.

Sublet can cover your running costs but as we’ve mentioned holiday homes are not a financial investment, they’re a lifestyle choice. Income varies for many reasons from year to year due to market conditions, demand or simply even the weather. We`ll talk you through our sublet options with both flexible income and guaranteed income available.

Stay often,

But not always

We get it…you might never want to leave. But technically, we do have to send you home now and then. Our holiday homes are just that: for holidays only. It’s great that we have a 12-month season at all of our parks so you can visit whenever you want for as many weekends away or break as you wish during the year, but let’s be clear they are holiday parks, they are not residential, so you cannot live there year-round. We’ll need you to have (and prove) a permanent residential address each year. That said, you’re free to come and go as often as you like, and we love welcoming you back, whatever the season’s colours.

Foolproof exit plan

Buying a holiday home should feel exciting, not like stepping into the unknown. There are three ways you can sell your holiday home. Firstly, you can sell it privately and we’ll support you through this process by suggesting places to advertise, helping with pricing, viewings, meeting with your prospective buyer for a welcome meeting, handover and transferring the license for which a commission of 15% plus VAT applies. Secondly, you can sell your unit off site typically to a caravan trader, again we can support by putting you in touch with our trusted traders and guiding you through the process. Thirdly, you can sell your holiday home back to us, this will depend on the current stock of holiday homes we have available at the park and market conditions. Its’ all clearly laid out in our selling your holiday home guide so you know there’s a plan in place from the very start.

Want some more advice?

If you'd like an objective perspective, the British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) and the National Caravan Council (NCC) are both excellent resources.

We recommend this short video from the BH&HPA, it’s clear, helpful, and well worth a look.
