Each park offers something different

What matters to you?

This is where you’ll spend your downtime relaxing, laughing, switching off and creating moments you’ll relive again and again. So, take time to think about what matters to you and how you plan to use it. Ask yourself:

  • Do you love an energetic, resort-style atmosphere or something quieter?
  • How important are on-park facilities like spas or pools?
  • Do you prefer a large setting or a more intimate park?
  • What kind of local area do you want to explore?
  • And what pace of holiday home life?
  • Who’ll be using it most (adults only vs multi-gen family)?
  • Are you looking for rental income?
  • How often do you plan to use you holiday home?

Each Devon park offers something different but all deliver that Haulfryn feeling of space, quality and belonging.

Our most frequently asked questions

Which park feels least like a holiday park

While none of Haulfryn's parks have a traditional holiday park feel, Finlake Resort & Spa and Devon Hills Holiday Park are larger and do offer facilities, so it depends on what you're looking for in a park as to whether they'd suit you. Holmans Wood Holiday Park only really has holiday homes onsite and Dartmoor View Holiday Park has very little in terms of facilities, so both feel more like quieter, adults-only parks.

Which one is better for rental income?

Finlake Resort & Spa is a more energetic resort with facilities, activities and always something to do, which is popular with holidaymakers. Although Devon Hills Holiday Park is smaller and has less facilities and activities, it also has good rental opportunities as both parks appeal to a wider audience - families, multi-generational families, couples, retirees etc.

Can you visit your holiday home all year-round

Yes, all four parks offer a 12-month holiday season, so you can visit your holiday home as much as you like throughout the year.

Can you live in your holiday home?

No, our parks are not residential. Buying a holiday home is a leisure purchase.

Which one is the most dog-friendly?

All four holiday parks are dog friendly. Finlake and Devon Hills allow dogs into some of their facilities, so they're included too and don't have to stay in accommodation. And all four parks offer space to walk your dogs on park. Finlake has nature trails your four legged friends will enjoy.

Can I rent out my holiday home?

Yes, we offer a managed sublet scheme at all four of our holiday parks in Devon. Finlake and Devon Hills are popular with families while Dartmoor View and Holmans Wood tend to attracted more adults. You can find out more about subletting here. Our ownership teams at parks can also run you though the potential sublet figures for last year as an indication of what you could make if this is something you're thinking about as part of owning a holiday home.

How much deposit do I pay?

We typically ask for a 10% deposit once you've found your chosen holiday home.

Can I finance my holiday home?

Our holiday homes aren't eligible for traditional mortgages, but our ownership teams will be able to introduce you to specialists who offer holiday home finance or you could talk to your chosen financial provider for suitable finance products. You can find some more info here.

What's included in the sale?

Our holiday homes come fully furnished with appliances, all connection fees and your first seasons pitch fees within the price. Sometimes, it will depend on the specific holiday home you are purchasing as some come with a hot tub and decking and with others these are optional extras - it does state on our holiday homes listings if these are extra.

What are the ongoing costs of ownership?

  • Annual pitch fees
Pitch fees cover park amenities, facilities and maintenance and run from 1 March until the end of February and are payable in full by 1 March each year.
  • Water, sewage, refuse and environmental, and general rates are local authority rates from 1 April up to and including 31 March.
  • Gas and electricity
Gas and electricity is on a metered basis, which are read in October and billed in November.
  • Insurance
You’ll need to purchase your own insurance, which will be based on the value of your holiday home.

Are holiday homes subject to council tax?

No, you don't pay council tax on your holiday home. Please see the FAQ about annual running costs of ownership for a breakdown of what you'll need to pay each year. Our park ownership team will run you through these costs as they differ per park.
