At the heart of the action, you’ll discover the Delamere Forest Visitor’s Centre, where the cafe serves locally sourced food and freshly baked cakes. This open course set amidst beautiful forests offers a golfing experience like no other. The heathland terrain also makes it a year round golfing destination. As for the Club House, it’s a century-old marvel constructed in 1910 offering laidback bar meals or a fancy society menu. It welcomes members and visitors alike. Get ready to hit the fairways!


Food and drink

Craving a pint? Head to the Vale Royal Abbey Arms, a 15-minute walk lands you in a haven of award-winning cask ales and scrumptious food. It’s everything a country pub should be with a crackling fire, beer garden and cocktail specials! For fine dining, we recommend Nunsmere Hall, perched on a pretty lakeside peninsula. Eat in the restaurant, grab a casual bite in the Captain’s bar or treat yourself to a private dining experience.


Delamere Forest for kids

Bringing your little munchkins along? They’ll have a blast at Delamere Forest, chasing after the Gruffalo on a fun-filled trail, with exciting games and activities sprinkled throughout. Many of the Delamere Forest trails are fine for prams and pushchairs, ensuring even your tiny tots can join the fun. For our older adventurers? Let them monkey around on the Go Ape rope course, swinging from tree to tree!


Anderton Boat Lift

In the village of Anderton, the Anderton Boat Lift connects the Trent & Mersey Canal and the River Weaver, whisking boats up and down an impressive 50 ft! Built in 1875 it’s a Victorian engineering marvel. Explore the free visitor centre, where interactive exhibits bring the lift’s story to life. Step into mini cinematic moments, vintage arcade fun, and even a maze built from the original machinery. 


Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre  

Nestled in the beautiful Cheshire countryside, this is the only UK shire horse stud farm open to the public, with up to 20 - 30 majestic shires for you to meet. Explore the charming Wildlife Watch Nature Trail, home to rare breeds, red squirrels, otters, and more or enjoy fun daily talks and Shetland pony grooming sessions. 


Beeston Castle 

Perched 350 ft above the Cheshire Plain, Beeston Castle isn’t just a ruin, it’s a drama-filled skyline stage with views across eight counties on a clear day, stretching from the Pennines to the Welsh mountains.
