Exploring Chudleigh

Chudleigh is a historic wool town that could tell you a tale or two! Back in the day, it was the pit stop for stagecoach travellers making their way from Plymouth to Exeter. Today it’s still a hotspot for pub enthusiasts with no shortage of places to grab a meal, delight in some lively tunes, and sample a wide variety of homegrown brews. The Globe on Fore Street has been serving pints since 1830 and has a traditional snug as well as a beer garden. Or for a pub with an even longer history, enjoy a pint in the Bishop Lacy which has been welcoming patrons since 1807.

Ready to have some fun?

Pack your swimsuit and head to Chudleigh outdoor pool! Open all summer, it’s a toasty 28 degrees, perfect for an al fresco dip. Whether you’re an early bird who loves to swim laps at 7am, or a casual swimmer who prefers to laze around. If you prefer to stay on dry land there are plenty of walks in and around Chudleigh.
