Top places to visit in North Wales

Explore. Experience. Enjoy

Abersoch

Beach days, boutique vibes and coastal cool. Abersoch is a pretty little village with chic shops and trendy cafes, ideal for people-watching with a flat white in hand. And don’t miss the fresh, local seafood. The main beach offers golden sands and calm waters, and a bay for paddleboarding. There’s something happening year-round too, from sailing regattas and music festivals to fab coastal walks.

Llanengan Hillfort

In the peaceful hills above Llanengan, this ancient hillfort is a mix of fresh air, fabulous views, and a dash of prehistoric mystery. Thought to date back to the Iron Age, it’s a quiet but fascinating place where you can walk in the footsteps of ancient Celts. As you reach the top, you’re rewarded with panoramic views across the Llŷn Peninsula and down towards Abersoch and Cardigan Bay - a wow moment.

Traeth Glan-y-Don

A dreamy southfacing beach on the fringes of Pwllheli’s marina and a hidden gem of the Llŷn Peninsula. Stretching around three miles, this expansive sandy-and-pebbly beach is backed by dunes, and offers calm waters making it ideal for swimmers, families, and those seeking a peaceful coastal day.

Eryri National Park

Eryri National Park with its craggy mountains, lakes, and forests is for explorers, nature lovers, and anyone craving a bit of fresh mountain air. Take on the mighty Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon), the tallest peak in Wales, or hop on the Snowdon Mountain Railway for a ride with a view! And it’s not just mountains - think hidden waterfalls, zip-lining thrills, castles, and coastal paths. The southern edge is just a scenic drive from the Llŷn Peninsula.

Pwllheli

A lively little town on Llŷn Peninsula that’s got beach days and boaty vibes, with its sandy stretches, colourful marina, and seaside air. The town itself has shops, cafés, and a great local market. Pwllheli’s marina is a hot spot for yachting, so you can watch the boats bob by with an ice cream in hand. Fancy a bite? There’s traditional chippies to seaside bistros.

Own a static caravan or luxury lodge here, and you’re never far from your favourite view, or a big, warm, Welsh welcome.
