Edgeley & Brokerswood Winter 2022 Newsletter

We want to take the opportunity to say we hope you all had a great Christmas with all your loved ones, and we wish you a very prosperous New Year. We are looking forward to a wonderful 2022!

Brokerswood

Father Christmas himself paid a visit to all our lovely families at Brokerswood on Christmas Eve ahead of his busy night!

We are also delighted to announce that the development on the Lakeside will be underway in early January, with some initial clearing works already started. The development will consist of 12 pitches initially, and we hope to have it completed by the beginning of March ready for the new holiday homes to arrive ahead of the Easter break. If you would like any more information about the development, or the discuss opportunities to upgrade, please don’t hesitate to contact reception.

We are also very happy to confirm that our new play park is now fully installed, open, and ready for you to use. We hope that you will all agree that it is a fantastic addition to the park and that your little ones enjoy using it!

Have Your Say

Want to discuss your experience as a Brokerswood owner? We will be holding a listening group via Microsoft Teams on Saturday 26th February, with our park manager Jonny, and the new General Manager for the cluster, Kevin Jones. If you wish to be a part of the call, please don’t hesitate to contact Jonny directly to ensure you receive a link to join the session.

Edgeley

Work has been ongoing at Edgeley to install our Next Generation Wi-Fi. We anticipate that the external works will be completed by the end of January, and we will continue to keep you updated with any further work that may require entry to your holiday home. Our expectation is that the new system will be up and running by the end of March.

As we look to a greener future across our parks, it is imperative that we continue to use the bin bays provided appropriately. We have recently installed new signage on all our bin bays, to help guide you to which bins should be used for your waste. We have unfortunately seen an influx of white goods and non-recyclable materials such as washing machines, fire surrounds, and mattresses, being left in our bin bays. We must stress that it is your own responsibility to dispose of such items in a responsible manner. Any person found responsible for fly-tipping in our bin area will be recharged the cost for us to remove these items.

As we move into the spring, we’d like to take this opportunity to make our holiday homeowners aware of the working schedule for our teams and contractors on-site, along with planned works over the coming months:

  • Green waste runs are done every Monday and Friday – we ask that all green waste is left in bags neatly at the front of your holiday home, dog waste bins are emptied every Friday.
  • Our tree contractors are on-site four days a month and will be carrying out all necessary tree and hedge works. If you have a specific request, please let the office know.
  • Leaf collecting will continue into mid-January.
  • We will begin spraying and jet washing all driveways in mid-January. We will advise which areas we will be working on so that vehicles can be moved beforehand.
  • We will be expanding the following bin bays so that we can up their capacity; Woodlands View 1, Woodlands View 47, and The Green 10.
Haulfryn’s David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature

Further to our last newsletter, we have been delighted to get going with our David Bellamy Blooming Marvellous Pledge for Nature!

At Edgeley, we have started to install multiple new bird and bat boxes around the park. As spring approaches, we would expect to see more wildlife in the park. In the coming weeks, we will begin works on the entrance driveway to incorporate a host of bug hotels along the right-hand side with the existing tree stumps and growth on show.

Over at Brokerswood, we have been delighted to introduce new planters next to our play park to attract an array of Butterfly and Bee species. It’s also imperative that we protect our bat habitats here in the park, whilst there is development ongoing. To help with this, we have established several bat boxes within the Aspen Corner development, and in Elm Wood.

Throughout 2022 our aim is to continue offering solutions for wildlife habitats, including more bird and owl boxes, specified and purposely untouched overgrowth whilst introducing information stations, which will relay some useful hints and tips to help our natural environments thrive.
