Originally, we started thinking about buying a holiday home after staying with my cousin who has a place in North Devon, and we wanted something similar. We were looking for something that wasn’t too far from home, close to the coast, pet friendly, with a hot tub and a great range of facilities and amenities. Initially, we started our search by travelling around every weekend to visit different places, until we found Finlake Resort and Spa. 

I had to keep reminding myself that we were not buying, only looking, doing the necessary research. Funnily enough, once we had been given a tour of the park, we found that it ticked every single one of our boxes and ended up buying our new holiday home the very same day.

Throughout our search, it became apparent that some other holiday park operators were able to dictate how often and when you could use your holiday home, but with Haulfryn we were given complete flexibility. We could choose when we wanted to visit and how long for, and when we aren’t there, we could rent it out to holidaymakers using Finlake’s sublet scheme. We can also let our friends and family use our lodge whenever we want.

Having our holiday home at Finlake is just the most perfect place for us to have all the family together, and with our wonderful new granddaughter Olivia, it’s been fantastic to get that quality time, whilst making memories. To have the family down during the summer, something that we may not have all been able to afford otherwise is a genuinely wonderful feeling. To be able to offer our family and friends, who maybe wouldn’t get the chance to get away, the chance to stay in such a fabulous park is a blessing.
