May 2022
Over the past year, as we’ve started to emerge from the life-changing global pandemic, our eyes have been opened, not just to how to manage something like Covid-19, but also the parks we run.
To help you all enjoy special time together, The Warren needs to improve, and fast. We all want to make the most of every moment spent at The Warren, so we are pushing forwards an extensive programme of works to help make sure all of you can do just that.
This newsletter will now be shared every month, outlining planned improvements, the short-term impact of those and other news worthy of sharing.
And whatever your preference for change, we hope you can embrace the positive improvements we are delivering, and look forward to the fabulous results at The Warren over the coming months.
Thank you for being an owner at The Warren, Tal y Fan and Crugan.
We recently shared with you some beautiful mood boards to demonstrate how the refreshed Sandbar will look when it re-opens towards the end of the month – and work is now very much underway.
The Sandbar is already looking different, with a new sand coloured floor throughout, electrical work being done, smart wooden Acupanels & fresh paint going on the walls. It’s going to look fantastic for you all to enjoy this Summer!
So please hold Thursday 26th May 18:30-20:30 in your diaries, as exclusive owner-only invitations will be coming soon by email, so you can join us to raise a glass in your new Sandbar.
With the gym now temporarily relocated to part of the sports hall, to allow access for the full refurbishment and installation of the brand-new state of the art equipment, the transformation is well underway.
Including fantastic new kit from Technogym, world leaders in the design of fitness, sport and wellness solutions; Les Mills Virtual featuring a wide variety of classes such as ‘Born to Move’ for children 2-16 years; this state-of-the-art new gym space will help you hit your fitness goals and keep active whilst at The Warren.
We very much look forward to you enjoying the very best that the industry has to offer, this Summer.
As also mentioned in the Chairman’s letter you will have received earlier this year, we are very excited to update you that work is also well underway on your new workspace area.
This will provide the ultimate convenience for all your work needs whilst you are with us at The Warren Resort & Spa – from private pods, meeting spaces and even refreshments, we’ve got you covered.
So whilst the refurbished Sandbar can help you relax and recharge and the new gym space can help keep your fitness in check; your new workspace gives you a break away from your holiday to check in on emails, meetings and calls in a more private and professional environment.
If you are joining us towards the end of May and early June, we’ve arranged a programme of events to help entertain.
From laid back DJ sets in the Sandbar to pool parties, kids activities and test your knowledge quiz nights, all you need to do is find time to fit it all in!
We are delighted that Dylan has now joined The Warren and North Wales team, assuming the newly created role of Head of North Wales Parks. We managed to grab five minutes with him to find out a little more about him.
Name: Dylan Hughes
Role: Head of North Wales Parks
Former experience: I’ve held several senior positions within the hospitality sector including General Manager for Handpicked Hotels (London and North Wales), General Manager at Portmeirion (North Wales) and most recently General Manager at Chateau Rhianfa (Anglesey).
What do like to do in your spare time? Coach my son’s local football team, and spend as much time as possible outdoors with my family
Favourite Food? Any seafood
Favourite TV show? Currently into Ozark
If you could invite 3 people (past or present) to a dinner party who would they be? Jurgen Klopp, Raymond Blanc & Nelson Mandela
If you didn’t work for Haulfryn what would be your ideal job? It would have to be something else in hospitality, or accountancy
We hope you get chance to introduce yourself to Dylan very soon.
Over the past few years, as you know, we have struggled to host a consistent team to ensure you receive the best service we would like to provide. To help resolve this, we are underway with some new initiatives including the purchase of staff accommodation in neighbouring Pwllheli, evaluating potential other staff accommodation in other areas where candidates can be attracted to live, partnerships with catering colleges and the recruitment of a new, dedicated Head Chef, starting very soon. We will keep you posted on these game-changing initiatives in the coming weeks.
To further help with this, if you have over 16 student children who may be looking for a Summer job, please get in touch with our Recruitment Team by emailing recruitment@haulfryn.co.uk to include the details of the person who may be interested (including full name & age), how they can be contacted and what kind of role they would be looking for.
Within the holiday home sector, we are seeing more and more demand for second homes across the UK and suppliers are now advising of up to a three-year lead time for new, state of the art chalets to be available.
That said, if your lease is coming to an end in the next couple of years and you would like to discuss your options, or you are thinking of a new pitch to upgrade to, please don’t hesitate to contact our friendly sales team, Steve and Noreen, so they can talk you through what may be available to you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if there is anything at all we can help with. Our reception, leisure, spa, sales team, and owner relations manager can be contacted on the numbers below between the hours of 8.30am- 5.30pm.
