From beaches and secret coves to nature reserves and culture, there is something to do in all seasons, however you like to spend your downtime. And of course, you’ll be near Dartmoor National Park if you fancy lacing up those walking boots and heading off on a walking adventure.

Wrap up warm on a winters day and go for a windswept stroll or put on your swimmers and enjoy a day basking in the summer sunshine. Your closest beach is Teignmouth, a classic seaside resort with a sandy beach, pier and a lido for a fresh-air swim. This coastal town is packed with Georgian charm and offers a ferry crossing to neighbouring Sheldon too.
Another favourite is Oddicombe beach, which proudly boasts a blue flag year after year and is a sheltered, tranquil escape. Babbacombe cliff railway provides a fun way to reach it.
Ness Cove is a dog-friendly shingle beach that welcomes your four-legged friends all year round. All are about a 15 minutes drive away.

Enjoy a spot of shopping? The pretty market town of Bovey Tracey offers many local shops to browse. For well known stores head to Kingsteignton Retail Park and Trago Mills.
